A note of thanks. . . .

I just want to thank ALL of you for all of your help.

Today, the RX7 ran HEALTHY for the first time in nearly four years.
If it wasn't for you guys (especially the carb folks!) this probably wouldn't have EVER happened.

When I got here, I was nuthin' but a noob who didn't know the difference between an intake manifold and an Eccentric Shaft. Y'alls took me under your wing, PUT UP WITH ME (and my often stupid questions), and got my car running.

Drove a good forty miles to the next town over, took the 'long way' there, and the 'free way' back. It performed WONDERFULLY (other than the fact that I was running on crappy all season radials)!

It still has some little problems. I think the LSD is shot or something, because I seem to slide my inside tire a bit more on hard cornering. The car doesn't like starting without a choke, but that's an oh well thing. It idles a little bit high, at 900, but that could just be my carb tuning.

It died once at a stoplight, and took a few tries to start again. I dunno what's up with that.

I'll have a video I took on some twisties up later!

Thanks again, for all you guys' help!

JJ

Enjoyed is an understatement. If not for the fact that I clocked myself at about 17 MPG on the freeway, I think the little 323 might be getting a LOT less use!

BTW, I forgot to mention my compression. I have 85 front, and somewhere around 92 rear. Is this good numbers? It's a streetported motor if that makes a difference.

85 is not that hot, but is not terrible either. 92 is better. Optimal is over 100, though I think you can only get those numbers on fresh rebuilds.

Eh, not what I wanted to hear on my current budget O_O

on the front, about how much time should I have left? (The motor has approximately 85K on it)

Try a little MMO treatment to clean some carbon. Should help a bit with the compression.
I also find some MMO or pre-mix oil in the gas can help...

Oh, trust me, I MMOd the bitch when I first got it, and then again a couple of days ago.

I premix as is, so no need to put MORE MMO or pre-mix in
