Not running well when cold

In the morning especially on cold days my 83 rx7 won't idle when chocked. I have to hold the throttle down a bit to keep it going. Does anybody know how to fix this as I'm new to the this engine. Also I am having a hard time finding rims and other things to give it some style. I'm wanting to do a custom restore and make it stand out, any ideas ?

1st, welcome to the forum and the Darkside. In my sig line is a link to the online FSMs, carb manual and other rotary related reading material. Download whatever you need.

That said, how does it run once it's warmed up? Carb may needed a good cleaning, inside and out. When the choke **** is pulled out all the way when cold, the rpms should be around 2500 rpm. The choke butterly may be sticking due to binding linkage or varnish buildup inside the carb. Start with some carb cleaner, inside and out, the white lithium grease sprary lube on the external linkage. Download the carb manual and familiarize yourself with it.

As far a wheels, there are not many choices for the 4X110 pcd. Used aftermarket ones can be found in the 1st gen parts for sale section, but even used, they aren't cheap. The few new wheels offered start around 500 and go up from there.
