noise when i try 2 start

noise when i try 2 start

ok so i turn the key 2 start the car an i hear this metal scraping noise im thinkin flywheel but when the clutch was installed the flywheel had all it's teeth....this is a problem that comes up once and a while but when it comes up it happens like 2 and sometimes even 3 or 4 times what do you guys think it is?

Thats your starter, it gets in a position where it's not engaging with the flywheel. Your starter solenoid is pulsing to get the ring gear to pop out, thus the grinding sound your hearing. Either get a new starter or have it rebuilt, or just leave it. It's not hurting anything but it is a bit embarrasing, i know from experience. If you can just bump your car forwards or backwards while in gear that should be enough for it to start it. Oh and it has nothing to do with missing teeth.

thnx man........i was hoping it b that starter yea it is embarassing but dont have enough 2 get that starter now so it'll have 2 wait like u said it's not hurting nething
