No Start after carb rebuild
OK, so I decided to rebuild the carb that came with my 'new' engine since I could not get the original one to work after a rebuild.
The carb and engine are both modified. The engine is street ported and the carb is a stripped Nikki (non-sterling). Rats nest is also removed. Everything appears to be connected correctly and carb was an easy rebuild (the second one is always easier i guess). My problem is I still cant get the thing to run. If I pump the accelerator a few time so that the accelerator pump squirts some gas in or if I just pour a little down the carb's throat, it will start right up. But, it dies as soon as the gas runs out. The carb does not seem to be feeding gas at all. Both bowls are at half on the site glasses and I can see gas feeding if I use my air compressor to blow air down the card. However if I look down the carb while I have someone try to start it, it looks dry?
Any ides?
Thanks in advance.
