So, I have fuel. I have spark, perhaps not enough, plugs look a little old, but wires and coils are fairly new. Fuel is getting down to the plugs and I have unflooded it twice. I also took one plug out of each rotor and cranked it they sound the same as far as compression.

I intially couldn't get it started in a cold snap when it wasn't properly plugged in, then flooded it and drained the battery.

I put a good strong spare battery in, unflooded it and check to make sure all my wires were on and in the right place and still nothing, it doesn't even try to catch just a constant cranking. Any advise would help, thanks.

Try a different set of plugs. Sometimes when plugs get wet with fuel, they never seem to recover.

For some reason I can't seem to get plugs until Tuesday, but I will go out hunting again tomarrow. I did pull them out and crank it, letting them spark to ground, they didn't seem too bad.

has anybody tired Bocsh 4477 plugs, too long?

Old plugs can look OK and not do the job. Get new NGK spark plugs to solve the problem. My '84 started no problem in 22 degrees Fahrenheit this morning...when it started to get cold, I had two 'episodes' where the car wouldn't start...after the simple plug change, I never had the problem again and it's at least 15 degrees colder now than when it wouldn't start a month and a half ago....

Clean up your plugs with brake cleaner and blow dry, add a capfull of motor oil down each primary barrel of the carb, start it.
