No power to Coils or Fuel Pump
As the Title says, my 80' RX7 is getting no power to the fuel pump or to the ignition coils, I had it started and was about to drive it when it just died on me out of no where. Originally I thought maybe the coils went bad, so I replaced them and nothing changed. I got my test light out and confirmed no power to the fuel pump when key on, if Im not mistaken, the coils would only show power if the engine is actively cranking, so i tested the positive side of the coil while cranking the engine and got nothing. i checked the coils negative posts for good ground and they had it, at the same time i checked the positive side of the coil, and it was also reading as a ground. Fuses were all good, fusible link looked a little worse for wear so i just swapped it with the "retractor" fusible link and still nothing. Anyone got any tips? I have a wiring diagram manual so I could rewire it if i have to, But still hoping its something simple that I'm overlooking
Do you get anything with the key in the Accessory Position? This would confirm the battery and fusible link are good.
Do you have a multimeter? You mentioned a test light, but I prefer the multimeter for voltage readings. It also makes continuity measurement a bit easier to see if it's a condition that might be changing as you move wires.
You said the fuses were all good. I don't want to insult you intelligence, but how did you "check" them?
Of course I have an 82 and I'm assuming our wiring diagrams are at least similar!!

When key is in accessory there is power to the dash, headlights come on, etc. as for checking fuses, I assume the fuse box under the dash by the hood release are the only ones, i visually inspected them and replaced the ones that looked iffy. I do also have a multi meter, I've just never used it before.
80 ignition key switches can get loose over time and have issues. They have a metal cover on the back that is held on by 3 or 4 metal nubs that fold over the edge of the switch to hold it all together. Its gets loose over time sometimes and causes issues. Its easily fixed but you have to take the steering column cover off and fuss with some other bits to get it off if thats the issue.
