no power

From a flat start, It (82 gsl, stock, no mods,63000 miles, automatic, yeah, yeah I know) has no guts. Once it finally gets up to speed it is fine. Then, when trying to go up a hill, Amish buggies start passing me. There has been a clicking, loud, from the fuel pump when you turn the key on. Could the fuel pump be on its way out? It did have great power up till now.

exactly the same problem I had with my car.

My old setup was a 12a automatic.

It would take me forever to get up to top speed. And going uphill, my speed was about 8MPH. I totally know where your comming from.

My problem turned out to be a whole shitload of things. I had a blown apex seal in the rear rotor, my secondaries were gummed up. On top of that my rear end was making a really loud clucking sound.

I'd suggest trying the ATF treatment. It may build up some compression that you may be losing. Another cheap thing you could try would be to change the fuel filter. I'd do the fuel filter before you try the atf treatment though. The ATF treatment will make your neighborhood look like Mt. St. Hellens went off so beware. You also might have a clogged cat. If you still have your origional cat, you might want to consider replacing it. They tend to wear out after 18+ years.

My answer to my problem, was to simpily replace EVERYTHING. New engine, changed to a manual transmission, new rear end, changed to F.I. the whole shebang. Iy'll work for me but I've payed $$$ up the *** for it. I ended up spending around 2 grand more than I ment to.

Good Luck!

The ATF treatment, i believe (as i have never done it) is auto tranny fluid. You can pour a tablespoon or so into the carb to get a siezed engine up, so i have heard. I have also been told not to do it unless you have no alternative.
anyone can correct me if i am wrong

I changed the fuel filter, did give a slight bit of power, not a lot. I will look into using the atf, I have heard about this on the postings somewhere.
