no more mr rx7

well looks like for me there will be no more mr rx7 for a while.....two days ago i had a tire blow got both front replaced today and now its locked up....we broke 3 ratchets and bent a big pull bar trying to make it turn....any suggestions cause my assumption is that it will never run again without another motor...i dont get it because when my tire blew out it was runnin perfect....i even had it runnin long enough to move it out of the way about 6 hours before i put the tires on it...how could this happen???

It's your cars way of telling you that drifting is stupid.

Just to let you know this is the same thing thats wrong with my engine, although I got it this way and didnt know it. If its locked like this, dont pry on the main pulley nut anymore, or your going to crush ****, or break something which will cost you more then just tearing the engine down and rebuilding if most things are still good. Just prepare for a rebuild, or find someone that will.

i dont see how it just locked up like that, something had to have happened to it. first off was it in nuetral or in gear when you tried turning it? did you check anything else that could be causing it? pull the starter inspect it and the flywheel, pull all of the belts off and turn each pulley, make sure the ignition is on when you turn the alternator pulley(it sounds silly but ive seen alternators go bad, lock up and not allow the engine to turn over and it olny locks when the key is on). with the car in gear (and the brake off) see if the car will roll back and forth to see if the pilot bearing is seized. pull the plugs and exhaust mani to see if youve got a broken apex seal. if nothing else try the atf trick or roll it down a hill and pop the clutch

Read the archives for ATF Treatment/Carbon lock, sounds like a typical carbon lock scenario. if the atf will fix it your golden if not its a teardown/rebuild if you keep trying to force it you will only damge things internaly. carbon lock by itself does no damage, its everybody trying to force it that damages things, you could have a huge chunk of carbon behide an apex seal, not allowing the apex to move properly therfore "locking" the engine in place.

Its a carbon build up... put some dissel in the spark plug hole and pull it backwards and the motor should unlock

after that you can go for another 200 000 miles..

Just out of curiosity....WHY would you bring a MAZDA RX-7 to a CHEVY dealer?

Sorry for the above post. I misunderstood. My recommendation would be to keep the rex no matter what route you choose as they just can't be beat as far as the pure thrill of driving.
Also if you do get a new motor( or rebuild) it will serve you well for many years to come. Good Luck.

Sounds like a short trip Carbon Lock. There is info in the FAQ to unstick it.

I had the same thing happen to me while I was replacing the heater core and controller valve. I tried everything. Long story short the engine is sitting on a work bench and the car is waiting for its new 12AT JDM.

I gave up trying to tear it down as that 54mm (2 1/8") nut on the flywheel is a pain to get off.

ATF DOESNT DO **** WITH CARBON LOCK WHEN THE DAMN ENGINE DOESNT TURN!!!! Ask me how i know, its been a month with MMO. NOTHING. Tear down or your engine is junk by the time you break it loose.
