No more bogging or rough idle

Ok, some of you(mostly trochoid) know about my situation I was having with my car like bogging, sputtering and having a rough idle. Well, I tried all the obvious, fuel filter, air filter, etc. Well, I SEARCHED around a lot and came along something about the shutter valve. Well I read many threads about it and what happens when it goes bad. So, I read that if the conditions of what happens when the shutter valve goes bad is to just plug the hole in the stock air filter box nearest to the driver seat. Plugged it and it was like magic. I could have the car idle at 800rpm and be so smooth I couldn't believe it. Before, the car was idling at 1,500 rpm and rough. And sputtered in most gears when on the gas pedal or off. So its fixed. I read that it won't harm the engine or anything plugging the shutter valve hose, true?? The conditions I found out is a really loud honking nose form the carb when you take the carb hat off, and bad(high) idle wiht bogs and sputters. So it may not always be the fuel filter . Sorry so long, just had to share my excellent news about my 7. Maybe this will help out some of you who have similar issues with the 7. This is basically a huge vaccum leak to let you know, so if somebody says check vaccumn leaks, check the shutter valve symptons like the honkin noise. God bless

I also want to say thank you Scott (trochoid) and everybody else who has helped me, even if not in this particular issue. Take care
