Cool no miata for me

I recently began entertaining the possibility of purchasing a miata as a daily driver.

After finally driving both a '91 Miata and my '83 Rx-7, I've decided I love the feeling of driving my RX too much to give up on a daily basis. That, and I like the idea of driving Mazda's quickest, top-of-the-line car in the year is was built instead of getting the one with the "little" engine.

My goal by the spring is to rebuild my carburator, replace the weatherstripping on my doors, replace the window track/service the motors (or even convert to hand-crank depending on how involved the conversion will be), replace my fender, and get the hood, fender, and bumper painted.

Damn rainy-*** weather has been delaying my plans though, as I don't have a garage to work in.

so...yeah...rant completed.

Don't forget you can chop the top on the RX and get a tonneau to save yourself...

I too sit at the same crossroads, but the pull of the Miata is strong, and the POS Racer (My RX7) needs so much attention. (Brakes, Clutch, Rear End Work (leaks), springs, struts, catalytic converter, and I’m sure there is more I just can’t recall. She won’t pass emissions so I run her around with an expired inspection sticker, but the plates are valid and I have insurance, plus printouts of the five times she has failed since June, which really confuses the Police when the pull me over.

I only paid $800.00 for the POS Racer back in June and she ran a good portion of both the SCCA Solo II and ER schedule. I’ve put 1400 miles on it, and she’s never stranded me.

Part of me wants to revive the POS to her former glory; another part wants to get a 91 to 93 Miata, so now the POS sits. I have the funds available to do either, just not both. I really like my RX7, but she is so needy.

What do you do, what do you do.

I dont know man Maita's are cool, but i easily beat one the other day in my bone stock '85 12A after giving him a head start. But I understand when you say you want a reliable car. I have to travel 300 miles to home and back. It would suck to be stranded.
