no high end power

I keep hearing everyone say that the rx7 developes most of it's power at high rpm. for whatever reason my car seems to have most of it's power from about 3000 - 5000, does this mean something might not be working properly

I wonder if the secondaries on the carb are opening, the vacuum thing that operates them might be broken. Search on mechanical secondaries. Your power shouldn't even start good till about 4K. Mine pulls really strong when the secondaries open up. I take it to 7-8K most every day.

do you have a gsl-se? if you do, make sure your 5th and 6th ports are opening. i had the same problem as you, and sure enough, my ports weren't opening. it makes a big difference. if you have a carb.....i dunno.

his is an 83. i'd say carb's secondaries or cat. if you are in a no emissions area i'd say gut the cat first as at least its out of the equation and it removes exhaust flow restriction.
