no headlights

Having a problem with headlights on 85. Sometimes they work fine other times they go up but not lights. If I pull back on the level for brights they come on bright. turn signals and eveything else works. Occassionally they work fine. At first I thought it was only a problem in colder weather in April but now its happening most of the time.

Check your connections at the combo switch and also make sure that the fuseable links for the lights are not corroded or loose either. After verifying that then the attached link may be your route to go.

Use Kentetsu's thread, it is what you need to fix the problem.

If you decide to disassemble and clean the Combo switch here are some labeled pics that might be helpful.
