No Fuel form tank?

So my recently acquired 17 years in storage 83 has at least one issue. I am getting nothing out of the fuel tank. Pulled the hose off at the fuel pump and nothing comes out. Is there a pickup tube in the tank that can clog? I should probably just drop the tank but the car was stored well indoors so possibly not necessary.

Bad fuel pump- can you hear it running?
Clogged filter?
Sounds like fuel pump not running.

Download the wiring FSM
Find the fuel pump relay
Jumper one of the B/W wires to the B/Y wire
When you turn the key to on/start you should hear the fuel pump running
If you don't hear the pump or its not putting fuel out then the pump is dead

I already installed a new pump. Nothing coming to the pump from the tank. The line feels like it is blocked so I guess it is. I am going to try and push something back into that hose tonight see if it clears out.

Just because you have a new pump doesn't mean it's running when it's supposed to.
Can you hear the pump running? Have you tested continuity to the pump when the key is in the ON or START position on the ignition cylinder? L/W is positive, ground to the chassis with a test light.
Did you drain the gas tank and add new fuel (excess of 5gal)?

The pump is running. Again no fuel to the pump itself pump is spinning nothing from the tank.

New fuel in the tank? Or are you trying to run the old fuel right now? Varnish buildup and rust could cause serious issues between the tank and the pump. If you've drained the tank's old gas and replaced it with a good amount of new gas and you're still getting nothing then the last thing to do is drop the tank and clean all the lines.

Time to drop the tank. It has a drain plug, best to use it. The original pickup screen has long since disintegrated, and the pickup tube fills with rust, sediment etc. you can search 'marine clean' in this section for good tips on tank refurbishment.

Huh, I'll have to look for this myself. I need to replace the tank in my current car and want to refurbish a different used one before it goes in. Thanks for the tip!

POR15 makes a nice home-refurb kit. I pulled my tank, took it to a Rad shop for a chem-dunk then POR'd it inside to reline it so stuff would no longer shed off the walls and plug the PU tube.

yearly fuel filter repl hereafter will help.
