Check the fuel level in the float bowls by looking at the glass- fuel should be half way up. If not, floats are not adjusted correctly.
Has the carb recently been rebuilt? If so, the needle valve may have been sticking and causing flooding. Gunk in the carb from a dirty tank where the car has been sitting for a long time wil also cause needle valves to stick. Another common cause of flooding is inoperative air (bowl) vent solenid.
Search- there's lots of posts on these issues...

Yes, the Nikki has an accelerator pump. Diaphram could be busted or the linkage could be connected wrong. Car should crank & run without this operational, though. The A/P gives it a squirt of fuel when accelerating hard.

If the ap gasket fails, you should see an external fuel drip from it. The ap is feed from the rear fuel bowl. If that bowl is not filling with fuel, no ap squirt.
You might want to remove the had fuel lines from the top of the carb and check the filter screens around the banjo bolts.
