STERLING!!!!

Seriously, Sterling and Carl do great work. If you want to see a car with a Sterling in action during Autocross racing, just go to www.Youtube.com and search for Kentetsu.

To reach Sterling, you can either PM him or RX7Carl. Or you can visit their websites: www.sterlingmetalworks.com or http://www.pbandjracing.com/

Last I heard the cost was around $350.00 and there is a waiting list. Your best bet will probably be to find a junkyard carb to send them. That way your car will not be down while you are waiting for the new carb. There is also a thread in the Archives titled something like "can a Nikki be modified" or something like that. Lots of good info there. Good luck!

Hurry and dump the Nikki and get your hands on an Edelbrock carb. 500 cfm is the way to go! Very stock like drive and a blast at WOT! Cheaper than a sterling too!

Yes it does. Its the same intake for the Holley carbs. I'd check Ebay or Racing Beat. Even the "for sale" section on this site. The Edelbrock carb you can buy at Jegs.com or Summit Racing.com or at your local Auto parts store, just make sure its the 500 cfm, wouldnt go any bigger!

"Junk them all particulary the chromed ones" and buy an IDA since it fits all application and is very easy to tune.

I second this. Once you get the secondaries close, its ultra easy to tune, as simple as loosening two covers and changing out the metering rods for fine tuning of cruise and part throttle. It takes only 5 minutes to change out the metering rods if need be. Even the jets can be changed in 10 minutes or less.

****. changing jets only takes 2 minutes the most. Now, try playing with different venturies.....oh ****, you cant do that.

Good for you Wacky! But with the money I saved on an AWESOME carb I went out and got a few cases of Heine's. Just remember how long it took you to tune your ida! Some never get it right and you cant really benefit from a 1/2 bridge now can you? You still the man in my book Wacky

Everyone has their personal favorites, but Edelbrock is tops in my books, and I know it is for Latin270 as well. Everyone on here that has some sort of edelbrock on their rotary loves it. Mabey its because its similar in operation to a IDA? I don't know for sure. I just love how easy it is to tune, basically just your idle speed and mix, secondary jets, and primary jets and metering rods. Even out of the box they give you near perfect regular drivability, its really only full throttle and mabey some partial throttle you need to mess with.

Not to get to any pissing contest, "Tuning" means trying out different combinations of jets, venturies and timing to get the full potential of an engine. Im also a former holley owner but I moved away from it.

Holley's suck, period. I'd never use one, not very tunable. Also, tuning involves trying anything you can change on a particular carb plus changing timing to get maximum performance. Venturies are in that list for carbs that can be changed.

Try eBay. I think I saw one yesterday, and for a low price, too.
