Question Nikki carb woes

Hello! I am new to the club and hoping that I can get some help.
I recently rebuilt the Nikki carb on my '84 GS with a kit from CarQuest.
After the rebuild I had major flooding problems. I researched this site
a bit and tried a few things. I tapped on the carb until the needles stopped
sticking. That helped but it still wouldn't idle and it ran very rough. I then
realized that I put the gasket between the horn and the carb body on upside
down. Fixed that and it is better yet but I still can't get it to idle and when I
take it for a ride it boggs out when I accelerate. Runs great when riding along
at a steady speed though. Any suggestions?
Thanks! Chris

Have you replaced your fuel filter yet? If not, do so (trust me). Where in Michigan are you?
