So just curious, what does the stock intake manifold flow? Not that it matters much to me since I will be boosting it in the future. I'm now waiting for you guys to start boost preping nikki's.

Lemme just say I'm really happy at the number of votes we're getting.
And the numbers are suggesting that people that show interest in the potential of the Nikki carburetor are mostly mechanically inclined.

Regarding boost applications, I think that it would take only a few mods to boost the Sterling Carb.

We'll have to research it and then run some flow tests (and pressure tests).

I have confidence that nikki-boosters will be very happy with a Sterling Carb.

Carl "knows the flows" of manifolds. He can offer up some numbers. Right now, we have great carbs, but "it doesn't mean jack if the manifold hold you back!"
Only when Carl has finished his research can the Nikki be brought to it's full potential.

I `am impressed!I`am starting to ponder if i should send my Nikki over to USA!Maybe i can run my BP with the Nikki after all ?

On my Capella,i had a tubular intake manifold, going to the Nikki. Was done by a local shop,on the drawings i supplied them. The gain was amazing ,along with simple rejetting of the Nikki.

Something to consider ?

"In the neighborhood of 170hp."

Carl - on a 12A? Header and carb alone add about 70hp? Man, that's some jump.

An ITA racecar runs about 150hp. And thats with a bone stock carb and intake manifold.

Just chipping in my own few cents... have an RX-2 carb around that I modified but have yet to work the bugs out of. All the mechanical secondary stuff but... don't know how well it works. We only have one 7 in running condition and... well, I guess the RX-2 carb needs a rebuild as it started gushing fuel when we hooked it up.

I keep having the thought of making a new top plate from barstock aluminum... I love my milling machine.

And I'm still curious about how the intake manifolds are going to turn out... going open plenum (like I heard rumored Yaw's Production ones do and some old Mazda ones did too) or is that to be determined?

can you guys get dyno numbers on a 12a w/ sterling carb, RB exhaust, and direct fire?

i have a hard time believing 170hp, but i'm not saying you're not doing it... i just have a hard time believing it. Is that with a ported manifold too?

if you can prove it, i'll switch over, because i'm getting fed up with my damn dellorto and getting crap mileage and i dont think i'm making good power either.

so make me a believer

To add to the Nikki, just to throw an idea out. I'd like to see a tubular cold air fixed to a tophat on top of the Nikki. Kinda like a turbo setup, minus the boost. Conical K&N on the end. Anyone ever thought that one up? If so, send pictures.
