I'd suggest you contact Sterling for replacement jets. Mazdatrix also sells them but they are $$$$. The holley fuel jets you would find wont fit our carbs, and the sizes are too big for the Nikki. How do you plan on tuning the carb? Dyno? Wideband? EGT?

what you are considering is not something to be taken lightly unless you are a truly certified carb guru. I would recommend sending it to Sterling and get it done right. There is a lot more to it than just putting in new jets.... More high end power would definitely be there if you go Sterling. I love mine, which is on my daily driver/autocrosser....

It's my fault, gentlemen. I've been busy as a jeweler for the past year, and I've neglected my carb business, my poor Rx-7, and you folks.
I am getting my *** in gear, I swear.

I'll be opening up a forum, and revamping my website soon, and then the production will begin again.

Theres one under the AP squirter nozzle (under the checkweight) and one under the plug and checkweight thats on the main body right above the AP diaphragm housing. Do you have the blow up drawing that came with the carb kit? I could point it out easier to you by telling you what number it is on the DWG. What kit?

I'll answer for him, since he's my friend and I kinda helped with this a lil bit. There was not a diagram in the kit, it was the kit from Mazdatrix [99-1310-N249] There was only ONE silver ball inside a small bag of washers and such inside the kit. He and I both read teh writeup done by STERLING and he makes mention of these ***** and weights, but we have yet to find them. Pictures would help the writeup termendously.

Can anyone show a pic of the check ball/weight locations? OR the exploded view drawing that Rx7carl mentioned?

Hmmmmm, well I know theres a picture of the top of the carb body with labels/numbers on a carb thread somewhere on here. If we can find it we can show you where quickly.

perfectamundo! One goes under the squirter below the brass check weight. The other is under the Acc pump bypass jet plug, again under a brass check weight.

Can anyone tell me what the symtoms may be (as far as smooth running/idle/quick accelleration/ect) if one or both of these ***** were dirty or other wise malfunctioning or misplaced...I know this may seem like a stupid question but I'll tell you why I ask in just a moment.
Thanks.

Your accel pump wont work right. Weak and or late pump shot, causing off idle bog, stalling. Sluggish acceleration.

Like possibly a stutter/stumble as soon as you press the gas pedal?

Brother I think I(you/ya'll) just figured out my problem. I rebuilt the carb, replaced accel pump, cleaned all jets, ports, ect, set floats, and she fired right up but a stumble on initial pedal press. As I read this thread I realized that the only two things I did not do was remove pump nozzle, pump nozzle gasket, disc ball weight and ball...I did however remove the inlet check ball plug but not the inlet checkball weight and ball(the ones over the accel pump). I think this is my problem
I hope I didn't loose ball weights or my *****(hehe)because the kits I have don't provide them. Whata think?

Hey this isint instant tech support ya know lol.

I have extra ***** here if you need them. I do rebuild these things from time to time.

As far as the weights, I dont have any extra but might be able to help out if need be. Youd be surprised about how many carbs I get missing those parts.

Did you mess with the accel pump linkage? Adjust or touch the nut on the ap lever shaft?
