Question newbie question

Hello all. Just wanted to introduce myself and ask a quick question. I am currently looking to purchase a 1st Gen RX7 in Phoenix, wanted to get the advice of experts!

Are there certain RX7 trim packages/models that would be better than another if the end purpose would be a streetable track car?

Thanks in advance - Rich.

gsl or a gsl-se. se was noted above. both also have full disc brakes and a lsd differential. the se's suspension and brakes are beefier however.

While the rear disc brakes may look cool, the rear drum brake equipped RX-7s actually stopped in shorter distances than the disc brake models. Of course, the disc brake models also had the limited slip or posi rear end, which is good. If you can't find a model with rear discs, don't dispair, as the drum models are almost as good.

As for condition, check for rust in the usual places, the rear wheel wells, under the storage compartments that are behind the seats, the bottom of the doors, etc. Take the car for a test drive and see if the steering is loose. Some sloppiness is to be expected, as 1st gens don't have rack and pinion steering, but try and avoid a car with an inch or more of play in the steering wheel.

Good luck and welcome to the board.
