Newbie needs help on carb.. PIC

Ok this is the exact carb that is on the 1979 Im getting. Its been sitting at a friends house for a while..we hooked up the top 2 hoses and she started up but then gas started to come out the bottom hole so we shut it down..then figured we would plug up the hole..now it wont start for anything any ideas?? thanks

maybe if someone could post a pic like this but closer and bigger of where lines and hoses go on this side of the motor it would help out great!

on my 85, the tube on the right is the in from tank and the tube in the middle in pic is the fuel return line,,,not sure what the far left tube is for...some kind of vacuum hose i guess.....good luck

Well, the two tubes are different sizes and correspond to the tubes on the firewall. Easy enough there. If gas is coming out of that back vacuum port, something is wrong. Maybe your gasket is broken under the air horn.

also if the key is turned to on and the motor isnt cranking the carb will dump fuel in until the key is turned off. I guess if it was left on it would over flow. any ideas on that?

all those yellow hoses and stuff in the upper right by the carb we dont have.. theres pretty much hoses from the bottom thing under the carb that go nowhere..also it looks like plastic pices they connect to and they are not there either.

also thanks everyone so far for all your help

also is there a regulator or filter or something that goes inline witht he hose from the fire wall??

only reason I ask all these questions is becasue the carb was taken off and pretty much all the hoses were cut.
