New Zealand 1st gen Models???
Does any one know what the 84-85 model numbers are cars in New Zealand? I know the americans have got the GSL-SE and such, i was wondering if NZ was the same.
Any help would be appreciated as i want to buy a series 3 and put a turbo two in it which there are a few good write ups on how to, im just not sure if all the information given will be the same for me here in NZ

The NZ 84-85 model was the equivalent of the US-spec "GS". It was the 12A model, the GSL-SE was a US-only spec and was never produced in RHD.
We also got a heap of Jap-imported models (you can identify them by the location of the rear number plate; below the bumper is jap, between the tail lights is NZ/Australian domestic).
There also were a handful of privately imported 12A turbo models with adjustable suspension and factory tachometer in place of the voltmeter. These are pretty rare, there's probably less than a dozen in NZ.
The vast majority of first-gen RX-7's in NZ are '78-80 "series 1" models, probably in the area of 90% or higher. If you can find a S2 (81-84) or S3 (84-85) in good condition then you're doing well.
I have a S2 (1981) model, feel free to PM me if you need a hand with anything, I'm in the Auckland area.

Whoops sorry yes, boost gauge not tach
I've seen three examples in real life, one was parked on the side of the road near Tower Bridge in London, England of all the random places!
Rotererer, know the feeling, I've dropped the better part of NZ$45,000 on mine and it's still nowhere near finished. Stick with them though, they're great fun

The rotor shaped wheels were a bit rare I think, wern't they used on special edition models? Maybe it is a GSL.

Only one solenoid for AC. Previous owner was an old man and every single one of them that came to my country was like that
