New Wing or Spoiler For my Widebody Rx7.....Any Ideas?

I'm currently looking for a wing or spoiler for my widebody Rx7. I would really like to find the giant IMSA wings that are like a larger version of the three piece spoiler I have on my silver 85' Rx7, but they are too hard to find. So I'm thinking about getting a wing like this http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/50-GT...43622467QQrdZ1 . Or maybe a Supra style wing, though not my favorite choice and I don't like whaletail spoilers too much either. So any ideas or opinions would be appreciated.

Thanks, forgot all about selectmaz. Shipping will be expensive, but hey that's the way things are sometimes. With the big IMSA wing and CF TII style hood the widebody would be complete. And like I said not a big fan of the Supra style wing.

There was a widebody race car that used a wing. It was the only wing I have ever seen on a 1st gen that I liked. IT was probably due to the fact that it was mounted on pedastals that were on the rear widebody fenders.

What wing are you talking about? Can you find any pictures of it?

Thanks, the IMSA style wing that wingswest has is essentially a larger one piece version of the 3 piece stock Mazda spoiler and Mariah also sells that wing/spoiler.
Below are pictures of the wings that I narrowed my decision down to. It could be either whichever one that is the easiest to get, not the cheapest, will be the one I choose. I'm favoring the IMSA wing (2nd pic) but have no idea where to find it, which sucks. I can get the other wing (1rst pic) for $90 and have it in 3 weeks.

The WingsWest wing won't be wide enough. The turbo car on MariahMotorsports (I forget what member here has it) has that wing and he doesn't have a widebody.

If you really want a nice wing a guy in Maryland makes replicas of these

this one and the one I have attatched

OK....Now I'm up to three wings to choose from. I like the one you have posted a pic of and I like the white IMSA style wing that I just posted, previously(by the way that's a GTO-1 wing that's plenty wide). How much for the red one or one in that style? Also could this guy in Maryland replicate the white IMSA wing that I've been talking about. Thanks.

boriqua51371 is his username

350 for the wing I posted in the red thumbnail. That is the one that he makes. Same exact one on the blue and black racecar, but that one is from when Mariah made it. Mariah no longer makes that model

Also look up Steves85GSL TII he has amazing red widebody with the same wing

I'm currently working out a deal with a guy who has a functional Rx7 IMSA GTO-1 wing like the white one in the pic I posted. Your Rx7's whaletail looks very nice with the widebody kit that it has. Your Rx7's wb kit is the SCCA kit and my Rx7's wb kit is the Pacifica kit.

Dan_s_young has the short whale tail.

Since I got my first 7 I always wanted a whale tail but didnt want to pay retail price + truck frieght for one.

Well I waited, and waited almost 7 yrs before getting my first wing for a first gen.
3 peice OEM style,used for $75.

My friend was down from FSU,and stumbled across a SA in the junk yard with almost the who kit on the car.Well he pulled the whale tail for me (long whale tail) $20. and NO damage. He didnt know hwo to get the skirts off,I went back the next day and got them $10. each Yeah im happy.

Then I went to go see a friend with an RX2,well he want home, and I went across the street to talk to his neighbors, who I thought was still his family living there.I didnt knwo they moved,Buy they had a RX7 parts car he was tring to get rid of,cause the city ticket them.**** he gave me a 1 peice OEM style wing for free.

Took me almost 7 yrs,but I had 3 wings,within 3 months of waiting.

Sorry for thread jackin

OMG!!! i had no idea they were still selling the "imsa" (at least that's what they are calling it) wing!. its the one that is similar to the regular wrap around, except about double the size, and about half the size of the huge imsa whale tails you see on the widebodies. wow...i've wanted this wing forever, and now i know where to get it. how do you find prices on that site though

i vote for that wing for your widebody if you can't find the huge whale tail. do not, and i really stress DO NOT get that supra style wing...oh god don't do that

Just to let you know the white IMSA GTO-1 wing that I want, shown in the pic I posted is much bigger than the westwings IMSA wing. If I can find one of the GTO-1 wings I will be making a mold for it so I can make new ones.

Mariah Motor Sports still sells the entire GTO-1(or IMSA) kit and the individual replacement components to the kit. So maybe there's the answer to where too find the GTO-1 IMSA wing. When I have the time, or when someone else does, I can contact Jim Hagerty at Mariah Motor Sports to see if GTO-1 wings are still around for sale.

I had Mariah make my GTO wing, but they were hesitant.I had to pry, and even then, they had an outside guy make it from their mold...and it wasnt cheap.
The same wing can be obtained from others sources.I went with Mariah because I had a pre-existing buisness relationship with them, and at the time (2003) I hadent seen this wing on any other car,ever....except for old pictures of Mandeville's and Baldwin's racecars. As far as I knew,Mariah was the only source....

Scratch what I said.......I was a little confused with the kits. I was on Mariah's site and the spoiler that I want is on the Mark I GT3 car. They have it listed as an option for the bodykit, and I think they are calling it a lip spoiler. Here's a pic from their site of the wing I like ....if it works

wingswest has that same wing that you are refering too and the cost is 456 plus shipping also selectmaz in australia has that wing but the price for shipping is pretty steap, infact you can buy the whole body kit and you will pay the same price for shipping due to the size of the box. but that is going to run you about 1300 bucks for that set up. i personally make the same wing that steve has on his car. but i can find a wing like the one above to make a mold from. any how good luck with your search.
