New updates and some questions...........

Some recent updates:

I got a new, well used, carb from Dan Atkins Rotary really cheap and it helped tremendously with the running of my 7. The new problem I am having is I can't get the rpms below 2k. When I first got the carb , most of the area around the choke and even the metal piece for the decel valve were bent. I replaced them with parts from the old carb to get things looking right. After messing with the idle screw I realized nothing was changing. After taking off the carb and upon closer inspection the screw wasn't even touching the piece to control the idle .

Also I have redeveloped a leak around the omp, not a big deal. I'm going to completely get rid of it and premix. What do I do with the lines coming from the carb that go to the omp? The other oil leak I have seems to be coming from under from where the oil filter is. Anyone with a clue to what and why it is leaking??

Thanks for the tip with the omp lines.

I'm totally stumped though with my high idle problem. I'm about 90% sure I don't have vacuum leaks, also the idle screw isn't even touching the bar to control idle. One other odd thing I noticed is on the passenger side of the carb about in the middle lower section of it is a solenoid of some sort that I didn't have before on my other stock Nikki carb. I don't have it plugged in or even know what plug to plug it in to.

don't worry sbout it, the solenoid I think your talking about is for mixture not sure what it does, rx7carl told me not to worry about it. Also have you verified that your throttle plates are fully closed? might be sticking on ya or binding up

BOOYA!!! The rx-7 is da shiz now. I figured out why I had a high idle. The cruise control cable was jacked and keeping the rpms up. Now she purrs at 850rpms! Just got some new tires for the rear and now I can start restoring the body!! I took care of one of the oil leaks too. I just got rid of the omp and now I am premixing with mmo. This is such a fun car to drive now that everything is working at the moment.
