new tail lights

im going to be re-doing my car, and am thinking about doing a custom taillight transplant from another car. what car has the best looking taillights that will go with the lines of an FB? its going to be completely custom, so make/dimentions dont really matter.

IMO the only other lights that would look "good" on a 1st gen are 2nd gen acura integra tail lights if you can get them smoked. I think the 7 has one of the better shaped rear ends on cars (I think the rear is the most difficult to get "right") but my only grip is the way our lenses are made. I would love someone to make a replacement lense that was flat, and a matching center garnish.

I would think a hybrid S5/99 spec tails on a FB would look tite, I like the look of the circles rather then lighting up the entire peice.

Ricers!

Are you also going to "french'' in you license plate at an angle?

It'd go well with Z3 fenders.

Seriously though, be very careful you don't permanently F up your car.

f*ck ricers! i just dont care for the stock tail lights, and want to do something different than what is seen every day. i've got a few custom cars under my belt, so i dont think this will be to big of a challenge. thanks for the concern though!

If I could get an outer lense without the reflector I would but I can't, that I know of. It doesn't give me a dumbell look so I'm happy. PM me if anyone is interested

I think mazda did great designing the taillights. They're cool stock, or its just me. My taillights are in like perfect condition

I think the originals look bad *** smoked out. Clean them up with rubbing compunds so they shine like new, and tint them from the inside with the spray on tint.

I did this as well except you don't want to tint the inside of the lense or else the light will be very hard to see if at all. It's recommended to be done on the outside. Very cool look though. I did all my lights this way

Do you mean doing a taillight conversion or doing taillights like mine? If you mean lights like mine I'll make you a set, just PM me and I'll give you details.

whats hard with the spray on tint is getting an even coat so they dont look blotchy when you turn the lights on.

The most ricer thing to do is put lights fron another car on yours! At least big huge wings add downforce... ****...

Actually it's not that hard you just have to know the proper technique when painting. Only functional wings add downforce while all ricer wings are big pieces oh **** that just add drag

those tri-circle lights are pretty nice. and its not being ricer, it adding my own touch to set my 7 apart a little bit more. isnt that what building a car is about? its not like im getting some clear and chrome altezas or anything either. as for the tinted lights debate...i did mine from the inside, worked out fine.
