New RX7 owner needs some help!
Hi all, new to these boards!
I am picking up a Generation 1 next saturday and need a bit of assistance.
Basically the car is a runner but has no Test and is in need of some welding. Does anyone know where to get hold of replacement panels in the UK - off the top of my head its gonna need 2 sills and a rear valence (good job I havent had to pay for the car!!!). Any help would be greatly appreciated!
May very well have some more questions regarding engines etc (as rotary is new to me!!) so hope you guys will be able to help!
Look forward to hearing from anyone.

I read your email
Welcome to the board!
I can't help ya with the parts but if you're new to the rotary be sure to read Felix's Rotary Engine FAQ . There's a ton of excellent info there.

You should check the regional forum for European owners. They might have some good info for a local RX-7 parts dealer or boneyard. After you check out the Rotary Engine FAQ, mosey on down to www.mazspeed.com and www.rotorhead.ca . Mazspeed is a great technical reference and Rotorhead.ca has some great accessories for the rotary owner.
Good luck with finding your parts, and welcome to the club.

Make sure the car is SOLID no rust around the front of the rear wheel well. If you were able to pull the interior away in that area you will be able to tell if is rotted. Mine was and it took MANY MANY MANY hours to fix it properly with welding in new panels. And im a long time bodyman of 15yrs and still found it a little overwhelming the rot just never ended it was everywhere in that area. Just a thought, good luck.

Well, the car is now home and is starting under its own breath (care of a new battery!!!) and all the electrics work!. The interior is almost fully out and really isnt as bad as I first thought. The rear valence (under the bumper) is totally gone and there is a fair sized hole in the passenger side sill. Other than that, it just needs a damn good clean!
I'll try and get a piccie of it on the post later, need to upload the pics to my photo album as its too big to attach!
