btw, check if there is a fitting on top of the rear side housing (below where the 2 pfr. if there is, then this is a 6port engine. but again, the previous owner will not spend $$ on RB lower intake maniofld unless its a 4port engine.

 

Upper intake is fine, I don't know much about the mikuni other than it's a sidedraft. Haven't heard anything bad about it though. When you have it in 4th gear cruising around 35-40 mph does it start bucking like it's on the power than off then back on?

 

no no no like the car shakes. Ya know. It just shakes everything around. It acts really odd ya know. It's like that in everygear if I'm not going fast enough. Like 1st is good at anyspeed it can go to, second is the same way. Even third if I'm careful. the lowest speed 4th can go is 40 without shaking. 5th is I belive 60 but I'm not sure.

 

That just sounds like the nature of the beast. I think the shuddering your talking about is the carb going on and off the idle circuit? Someone correct me if i'm wrong, it's been awhile since i've read up on troubleshooting carbs.

 

what's the advantage if the car is a 4-port, same goes if it's a 6-port? and whats the best uses of each engine/autox,drag, etc.
