Question New rear quarter panels ??

Does anyone know where to get new rear quarter panels or patch panels? I have some rust just in front of the rear wheels on my '82 and I'd rather cut it all out and use new sheet metal. Thanks

Any body shop can do that for you - they bang a piece of metal to fit.

I thought I had a bit of rust in front of the rear wheels on my 83 GSL but it was much, much worse when the body shop started to work on the quarter panels. Luckily I had purchased a perfectly clean '85 rear end (both quarter panels and the entire rear half of the body). If you want to see the entire restoration, check out my web site. It was a lot of work, but the rust was so bad that the rear suspension attach points on the body were close to falling off. See http://webpages.charter.net/wbauman/rx7/rx7_main.html

That is one hell of a pictorial restoration! I really enjoyed it but what did that set you back? Looks expensive. You are really committed to your FB.

The rear quarter panel from a local dealer was around 750 dollars.

yeah when I checked in 95 they were 650 for the drivers and 575 for the pass. i guess the gas door costs more ? LOL

I remember calling mazdatrix years ago, and was shooting the **** with one of the guys while he was doing an order for me, and he said we got 2 quarters left. We're closing them out for $150 ea.. I should have got them...

I have also checked the local auto body place for aftermarket replacements, and all they have are front bumpers (any year except 79/80) , front fenders (any year) , header panel, hood, and rear bumper cover...

Hey Manntis since your so crafty, why dont you make us some aftermarket replacement quarters and rockers

Ill buy some , I promise
