Sorry, I don't know where the drain hose would go...I'd say if the original mast didn't have a drain..then you might have to drill a hole for it..or just plug the drain tube..but that might not be a good idea. That drain might be because it is a generic mast for all three gens of the rx-7 and later gens probably had drain holes.

I'm interested though in how the AntennaX mast fits in the first gen. My 85s was broken off too when I bought it and I was wondering how that generic fit mast fits? How was the installation? How is the quality?

Thanks! (I'd pm..but I honestly don't know how to!) so sorry to hijack..you can PM me..and I'll try to receive the message!

There was a thread in the last couple of weeks about this same subject.

Seek and ye shall find. Notice I didn't say search, a simple courtesy to your higher post count.

That's the one. Since I don't know how low the higher part of the drain tube is, I can't really give you a definitive answer on placement. I was hoping the origional poster would respond with his final solution.

If you can run the tube out along side the hatch drain, and it still flows down hill, then that might be the easiest. If that is too high, then drill a new hole between the inner fender and the frame rail, behind the interior trim. Make sure you treat any exposed metal and provide a cushion between the tube and body, whether it be with a grommet or or silicone caulk.

Hope that helps.

the power antenna works fine with an aftermarket radio...with stock stereos i heard you'll need a relay because it isn't the same...

as far is fitment is concerned...it fits fine...what i did was remove the bracket from the old one, bent the bottom lip backwards, bolted the top portion on to the new one and then used the bracket to connect the bottom of the power antenna to the bracket where the lip is bent backwards...kinda hard to explain but maybe i'll take some pix this week...once the bracket is on the antenna just bolts right up to where it was before...
