I have a chance to buy those wheels for 300 shipped right now

What size are they? I'm not sure if I should go for it or not depending on the size.

Oh and about the wheels.

Almex made by Yokohama (much like Advan) and they were a rare option on Sa22s. They are considered more rare than the Limited Edition 1979 wheels.

I like them, but I'm stuck on if I should get them.

Those are some rare wheels. The size, IIRC, is 13x5.5" which is the perfect size for an SA22 frame and weight. With only 105 hp available, the smaller/lighter wheel/tire combination makes up for a lot of acceleration.

Hang onto that car - it's worth a lot of money to a serious collector.

On a sidenote, I just moved my 80LS (SA22) to a new owner's house today to free up some much-needed garage space. Here's a picture of it in it's heyday:

I'll always have fond memories of that car - was much more 'rugged' and less refined than my current 84SE...

Well if anyone is interested I can get the wheels for them. The clear coat is peeling bad on them.

But I'm just going to get black panasports with a polished lip. It'll work best for what I'm going for.

I really like your car. Its not everyday that a truly unmolested first gen comes around. I really like it.

Leave it stock as you can; or at least as reversible-back-to-stock as you can. Personally, I'd leave the "rats nest" as stock, and the stock ignition. You know that things like wheels and tires and exhausts are certainly quite reversible; but emission systems can be tricky. Why remove it if it runs great with it? Leave it unmolested and if you really have the wish to mod it, get one that's already been there.
That is just such a classic as it is!

I just bought a '79 SA & its all original except for the radio- I am also having a hard time deciding if I want to mod it- I think suspension/wheels & maybe racing beat exhaust is as far as I am going to go-
