new pics, FC seats, electric fan, etc
Ok, ok, so this thread is basically just an excuse so show off some stuff that I've recently done to my car... lol, I have no shame
I got a nice pair of black seats out of a series 5 FC. Nice and comfy, fit isn't quite perfect but I might do some more work on them later.
Shift boot from rotorhead.ca. Looks pretty good, I was a little disappointed with a couple of things, its not up to par with the leather boot I put on my miata... but then again, this one was less than half as much:
New hinges for my armrest. The original hinges were broken and my armrest was just sitting on top, so a quick trip to Ace Hardware for some hinges and the problem solved. It sits up a little higher than usual in the back but you'd never notice.:
Last but certainly not least, my new electric fan:
It is the 16" "Mr. Gasket" fan from Summit Racing. So far no complaints. Right now I've just got it wired to come on with the ignition, but may eventually change that. Also, I haven't tried to put the original shroud back on yet, do yall think I really need it?
So far the cooling seems to be just as good as the factory clutch fan. My gauge is pretty much right where it was when I still had the old fan on. Here's a pic of the gauge after a solid 10min of idling:
Ok, I guess that's enough pic whoring for the time being. If you want to see more pics then you can check out my entire album at: http://www.paradise.raleigh.nc.us/gallery/rx7
If yall have any suggestions then please let me know!

Do the seats sit higher or lower than stock seats?
I need to swap something into mine soon, with my helmet on I have to keep my head tilted sideways to make a pass. lol
Thanks

I went from what I think were SE seats (brown leather... adjustable backing) to some FIERO seats...
and GOD DAMN!
I just used the pontiac sliders... just bend them, and drill new holes....
real easy, and both sides sit the same hieght.....
lots lower, LOT MORE COMFORTABLE, you can shift and work the pedals MUCH MUCH easier... VERY NICE...

NO need to put the plastic shroud back on the radiator. all it was for was to direct the air through the radiator using the stock fan. since you have the fan mounted directly on the radiator, there is no other way for the air to go than through the radiator. Looks good.

i didn't like the rotorhead shift boot either. I actually found on mazdatriz for a 79 the whole shift boot brand new in black. And i like your hinge idea. i think i will rip it off of u if u don;t mind.
