Talking new paint job

well some what..its been 2 months and i just waxed it the other day....i did it myself at my friends step dads shop...he owns a sign shop but has a booth in the back just big enough to put a car in...i had about 2.5feet on each side and a foot on the front and back...still turned out good considering the whole thing was done for under $350 and i did it myself!!!

the emblems were all broken when i took them off the car so i got my friends step dad to cut me some new ones out of vynil <sp?? i put them on just before i sprayed the clear coat so its kool to feel how they are in the paint almost

its really shiney and even though i spent 6days of 8am till 7pm pretty much straight non stop of just sanding, bondoing, blocking for highs and lows..there were still impressions and dents all over it that i never saw.....oh well it adds character..haha

its the K8 tornado which i thought was a 84' color but turns out to be an 85' color too?.. i got the paint from a Depont place and their paint dosnt need to be wet sanded...basclly it was sand...primer...clean...paint and clear.....they sold me a kit that included the paint and clear which was $150 and if i bought the paint alone it would cost $160 so the kit saves you alot..but then i had to buy tons of sand paper since the flat black kept gumming up the paper and the cleaner and primer

sure drive your car on down...lol

Both cars look awesome, hope mine turns out as nice.

Rusty Shackleford, did you get the badge names painted into it? Because to me they look awfully flush to be an actual emblem. Could just be my lack of sleep.

I'm going to go simple with a metallic black.

I had doubts about the emblems from from your description. I didn't think it would work. The pics prove me quite wrong. I like the way they came out, looks sharp. Good job!!

has anyone done spot jobs on their 7s? i'm getting an airbrush so i can paint the bumpers on my mr2, and was thinking if it turns out right, i could take care of some of the scratches and gouges in the GSL-SE's fancy black paintjob.
