New Oil Pressure Gauge Install ?
I am getting a high reading on my factory oil pressure gauge (85 12a 60K miles, totally stock). If I buy a new gauge at the local auto parts store will it work with the original factory sending unit or do I have to swap out the sending unit to match the gauge?
Or in trying to discover the cause of my high oil pressure, should I start with replacing the sending unit first?

high as in what? it pegs the gauge? it could possibly be a bad sender or it grounded out somehow. maybe came off the sender all together.
if you do go about getting an aftermarke gauge you will need that brands sender. and it will not just go right in, there is an adaptor fitting you can get at autozone that fits perfectly tho.

High being approx. 60psi at idle rasing to approx. 100 psi at 55 mph (at least this is what the gauge in the dash is showing) - was reading about 60psi at speed until recently, which is what my SE's dash gauge shows at approx. 55 mph
"there is an adaptor fitting you can get at autozone that fits perfectly" - do I just ask for an adapter for a 12a or .....?
Thanks for the help
