new guy here. should i buy an rx7
my cousin recently told me he is selling his rx7 since he has so many other cars, and can no longer have it.
it is a 1984 rx7 carburated, and is askin 500 for it
he says i need to fix the carburator, and thats all thats wrong with it.
i dont know the miles, and he does not either, since it has been in storage for aboiut a year, and he no longer remembers.
so question is should i buy it for 500?
oh and hi to everyone

If the body is in good shape then that might be a decent price.
A carb is easy enough (and cheap enough) to deal with in most cases.
There's tons of threads on this forum about what things to look for... Try using Search and I'm sure you'll find stuff that won't even be thought of in this thread

he says he has the kit for the carburetor, and that its the only thing. he does not know how to fix carburetors.
body i think is good, he has never crashed it. rust i dont know if it has any. we live in texas so atleast no salt on roads like other northern states.
he told me this weekend we will go together for it, and bring it to my house.
ive never owned a rotary before, and only reason im getting it, is for the curiosity.
been a mustang fan only forever, and dont know much about rotaries. these last couple days ive read up alittle right here on this forums, and am learning little by little.

Yeah man go for it, In a couple of weeks after you get it and read this forums enough times, you'll know all you need to keep it running right with the right parts.......lol, I'm telling you from experience. I also got my first rotary and if it wasn't for this forum I still wouldn't have known that they mix oil and fuel in the intake stroke.

i say pick it up from him.
you can hit up a junk yard and get a carb cheap. or if its not to bad. talk to sterling or rx7carl here on the boards. they can take a stock carb and make it a super carb for a nominal fee. or possibly just rebuild your carb.
