Unhappy new guy haveing more problems

I was the one that posted that I am having some problems with power in my recently purchased 84 gsl-se. It has a 13b with a mikuni carb and headers(not sure of the exaust manufacture). Anyway, the thing is running like **** after I put 1000 miles on it the first week of ownership. The gas pedal is very choppy even in the 3500-4000 rpm range. I belive the carb may be jetted wrong but also yesterday when I turned it off all the power shut off but the engine kept running. Then later on last night I left it running to go into the store and before I got into the store it shut off by it self. Where do I start?

First off, since the car is relatively new to you, please provide some additional information about how many miles it has on it, how it got the mikuni carb vs. the EFI system that came on the 13b SE's stock, when it does these strange symptoms, etc.

Having all the information in one go will help to provide you with some valuable feedback on how to troubleshoot vs. a bunch of shotgun attempts to check your ground cables. All of this requires that you know a bit about the car, but we can help to answer any questions that you have as you get into it.

Welcome to the boards!

sounds like your air/fuel mixture is way off. check for fuel pressure, do you have an inline
fuel pressure regulator. it should be set at 5psi. possible have some gunk in the float bowl and the needle seat is sticking. make sure you also have good fuel volume too. tthere is a place called rebello racing in pachero, ca that bought all of mikuni's aftermarket carb parts
from there car division. ph# 925-974-0130, they can help you setting up propper jetting. hope this helps. rx7doctor
