New Guy car Pix

Okay, now I can put up a pix of our car. The first one is of the car we bought in Phoenix and the second post is of the zip tie/ safety maintenance. We dropped $300 bucks getting a shop to fix the fuel/ oil that was mixing in the carbs????????????

Nice slick clean car man. You should take some more pics. Those are sweet looking fog lamps. They look REALLY good on the car. Man that zip tie **** is fucked up LOL. How much you pay for the car?

How does the OMP manage the correct mixture? The shop said it was way screwed up. They also replaced the return spring on the carb with the correct one, not the a door spring that was on it. It needed smaller jets also.

No offense but you may want to take this to a well known Rotary shop and have them look at it instead of a normal shop. Most mechanics no little if anything about Rotaries

Well on a stock niiki carb there is a little place where the rod that was zipped tied and safty pinned goes. What it does is when you give it more gas it moves the lever up on the OMP giving the carb more oil to make sure that it has the correct mixture.

2100 sounds like a good deal. It looks to be in great condition!

Can that be locked in a fixed position or should it be moving with throttle inputs?

In Theory it should, but I dont know. One time my pin fell out and it got stuck on low for a 1000 miles, until I fixed it, but I still got 110 compression.

But from what I can see in the pictures you dont even have a plce to put the rod in.

Hmmm Your gonna need to talk with some one that has a holley. That will be your best bet.

Edit: I would call Racing Beat and ask them, they are the ones that sell that carb/intake setup.

They've been in contact with me about carb settings. Unfortunately the last owner JB welded some of the adjustment screws.?????????

Nice looking car!

If that is a Racing beat modded holley there will be a spot in the linkage to clip in the omp rod (the one you have zip tied)

The rod will work well on your 465 vac sec (if it's RB modded). but unfortunatly interfears with the fuel rail quite a bit on my double pumper.

In all honesty, I'd just block the OMP and premix. Seting up the omp on holleys usualy just results in jankity riggins' (such as you have) in my experiance. It's nice not to have to worry about it.

and don't pay shops hundreds of dollars to fix little **** like that. Everything on these first gens is pretty much self explanitory if you take the time to look at the problem. (or ask on the forum)

The zip ties were fine, Even on the "high" setting the OMP puts in less oil then what most of us premix.
