Talking The New Guy

Hello all i'm the proud new owner of a 1983 RX7 I call Blue Dragon. Its not blue yet though in fact it doesn't even run...yet...hehehe. (most people where i live think rotory engines suck, i'm looking forward to prooving them wrong). i read about prescriptionRX-7's good fortune in buying his RX7. Makes Me feel Like i got taken lol. i need a new engine, thats what i'm doing here. i found a rotory shop in canada that can ship me a rebuilt 12 a engine but i don't want to pay shipping. i'm looking for somethoing close to home at least some where in texas.. i can get a 2nd gen 13b nonturbo (maybe) that had its front end wreaked, most of the engine is in good condition. Just the air filter box and the radiator were crushed. its been sitting for 2 months and will sit for at least another three before i can afford to swap it out with my'n. i don't know if the wreaked engine will run. the owner didn't leave the key and i don't know how to hot wire a car. if any one can help eather with the name of some where in texas i can order and engine from or any advice about the 13 b engine i'd really appritiacte it. thanks.

if your not looking to spend much money on a motor you can do 1 of 2 things.

check out the recycler, thepartstrader, and the forsale board here for a cheap 12a to buy and drop in i see some go for around 300-500 in good condition.

or

Bring a bat. and compresion tester to a junkyard. and start testing the motors. its not to hard to find a running 12a. some i have seen in great condition. once you find one. find out when the next half off day is and pray that its there when that day comes(99% of the time it is) and pick that sucker up for around $200.
