new fuel pump and it idles lower, whats up with that?

My car died on the side of the road 2 days ago. After 10 seconds of "diagnostics" I found the fuel pump died on me. I got it towed home, ordered the parts (from NAPA, i know, i know) and installed the new pump and filter this morning. Anyway, after letting the pump run for a few seconds to fill the lines I cranked it and it fired right up. I let it warm up and the choke kicked off, but it was idleing low. I figured maybe it just needed to be run a little, so I went around the block but it still idles about 200-300 rpm's lower than it did with the old pump. I'm gonna fiddle with the idle speed screw tonight as I assume that will fix it, but why did it do this? Any ideas?

200-300rpms lower? What was it idling at before? After the car is warmed up and the choke pulls back in, it should idle around 750 RPMs

haha, ok this is weird. At work before I had some spare time so I started the car and let it run for a while to warm it up fully, so I could fiddle with the carb, well wouldn't you know, the damn thing was right back to idleing where it used to. So whatever I did it worked. haha, oh yea, word of advice to anyone who needs a pump, spend teh extra money and buy a good one, this napa one wasn't exactly a direct replacement, and its noisy as hell. Oh well, the car is back on the road so I'm happy.

hehe, yea, I wish I had the cash for good fuel pump right now. Oh well, this one works despite sounding like a cheap fish tank pump rattling on a glass table. Hopefully it'll last and I can forget about it.
