Hello every one
I bought the car recently, I was told it requires to put the engine down, to replace a seal, since when the car is on, it starts leaking water from one the housing of the engine.

My plan is to rebuild the 13 b with a complete rebuild kit, I would like to drive the car on the streets, not race on the tracks, but i would like to make it faster, without jeopardizing the engine life.

1. where would be the best place to get rebuild kit? I have been told that I should buy high perfomance package ( that it will be better for the life of the engine) vs Mazda dealer. I dont want to spent more than what i have to if not necessary.
2. Suggestions to make my new rx7 be true to its name.

Thank you

Where is it leaking water from exactly? A really common place that scares the **** out of non rotary people is the leak from the pump housing right above the front cover.

And are you sure its a 13b? The GSL came equipped with a 12a, unless someone swapped it over.

And the myth about "aftermarket" rebuild kits, springs and seals isnt really true. Different engine builds and parts exist for a reason! Different applications! So the best answer is find out what youre really doing with the engine, then decide. For street Im partial to stock mazda for cost/reliability.

Welcome Omar!
Kits: Atkins Rotary sells them. as does MazdaTrix (both are ".com"). Have dealt with both companies and they are excellent. Have never heard of a better "kit" than the Mazda one, tho some do offer better water seals (more durable to overheating, fatigue):
-pineappleracing.com has such a set, along with some other cool tools and bits that help in a rebuild. Site is worth a visit. Rob is a very nice guy and has been a big help to me over the years.

I would urge you to spend the Best $30 you will on your rebuild: buy the Mazdatrix Rotary Engine Rebuild video. Excellent!!

Best of luck. Lots of knowledgable folks here.

Start watching Aaron Cakes rebuild video on YouTube. The New Zealand one is good too. It may seem very intimidating, but if you do your research, plan carefully, and have all the tools and a clean and well organized work space you can do it.
