Question New Engine

As much as i hate to say it guys i think it is time for me to purchase a new engine. I've fooled around enough with the one i've got and i think it's better to just start fresh. Now the only question i have is where can i get one cheap. I was hoping i could get a remanufactured or a new one, i don't want to just take an engine out of another car. Question #2 is what engine/engines can i fit in it. Basically if i'm gonna buy a new engine i want to get one with some *****. Now i have an 84 gs and i know that was the first year that they made th gsl-se with a 13b, so will a 13 twin turbo fit ? i would appreciate any info you guys can give me. thanx.

P.S. --- Not enjoying having to drive around my geo tracker that i bought just to get around until i get the rx7 fixed.

I do not know what engines are compatiable with your car but I have an 84 GSL and I am getting a 12A remanufactured engine from Hayes rotary for a little over 2 grand. They have engines for your car so I would give them a check out. Their web site is www.hayesrotary.com Also, I might also consider getting my engine from http://www.revolutionrotary.com They are a little cheaper but I have never heard anything about them so if I hear good things from them, I will get mine from them. Hope it helps

well when you say cheap your talking about a j y motor. a mazda 12a is a reman(friend is the parts dept manger so i get the inside scoop). the CHEAPEST way to get a motor is a non mazda rebuild not ported not ****. add porting 150-300$ step up to a gsl-se and you will need the wiring harness and exh. plus all the intake **** (fuel rail, injectors afm blah blah blah) need the high flow fuel pump, the gsl-se cross member and some other misc stuff, go t2 or fd motor and add more **** to the list like ic, or fmic and piping better rad. getting the turbos looked at and fixed if needed. so in the short of it stay stock 12a if you want cheap. speed cost.

Was it a mazda dealership that you are talking about because I would like to get a remanufactured engine from them if they were going to install it because it would save me time and I have the money to spend? Thanks
Also, do you think that any mazda dealership would sell engines?

I priced a motor from the dealer ship, a mazda rebuild. I put in 7 or 8 of them in the past without any problems. But I know cost on them LOL I have a friend in parts there. I priced a 85 Mazda Rx-7 12A ... Dealer cost is 1575, jobber is 1750 and retail is 2575. Of couse he gave me the jobber price and a 24k mile warranty/24 months. They know me really well, as I have done some straight swaps for some of their customers and gave them a warranty. But I think if its not put in by them they dont offer a warranty? Or used to be that way... I can remember when the price on a mazda rebuild was 650 with a 500 core. What happened to that?

By the way 'cheap' and some ***** or HP dont go together in the same sentence. And whenever buying mazda parts use the rip off rule of thumb. 'Whatever it should cost multiply it by 10 and if you want more HP, double it again'

Could be worse tho, like getting a BMW serviced. BMW for mechanics stands for 'Bring Money Withya'
LOL
