New eBay lights

Has anyone tried these lights from EBay? I think they would just look interesting left up in the day. Anyway I thought I would just share the find.

If anyone has them please post a pic.

I might have to get them.

Agreed...
I bought the same ones from a local autoparts and they have the nice white color to them versus the dull yellow from the normal set. They are from the Silverstar line of bulbs Sylvania makes, part number H6024ST.

Junk, buy some Bosch or Hella H4 conversions instead.

Thanks for the input guys.
I'm going to do the H4 conversion with blue lights. But I just like the black backing of the light.

The black backing makes it harder for the light to reflect out of the housing. Think about it. I have that style but the backing is crystal, not black. Along with some nice H4's, them suckers are bright!

I don't think the black would affect it too much if it is a reflective surface. Cars like the mitsubishi Galant have a black back surface on the headlight. And I think the Prius uses black backing in their taillights and they are bright.

Well, black absorbs light, so with a black reflective backing like that, it's going to not be as bright as one with normal crystal backing. And, the Prius back lights are LED, they don't need a reflective backing. And, I haven't seen a Galant with their headlights that way. My friend used to own one and the back of the headlights were crystal, not black.

Are those HELLA H4 conversion KITS? or just the lenses? I guess my question is...are they PLUG AND PLAY?

Buy and swap em they plug right into the factory harness?

I always thought you needed a heavy duty converter wire from the battery etc etc...and it was a little more involved. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Because if so I would order those ebay HELLAS for $70 instead of spending $40 for 2xs Sylvania sealed lights.

How easy is the install?

Real easy. There should be some writeups in the archive, I'm not sure.

I did the H4 conversion headlights and used the heavy duty harness from Black Dragon Auto. Very easy install. If you have a couple hours to spare, you can get it done. Well worth it in my opinion. I have the projector style conversion headlights.

The headlights are a lens and a H4 bulb. Drop the bulb in the lens, plug the stock connector onto the bulb and mount the assembly with the stock hardware. Align the lens and have fun.

Figured I would add a part number:

7" Round H4 12v 60/55w High Beam/Low Beam 2 Headlight System.

P/N # 70472 or 002395801:7" round H4 Lamp Twin Kit for high and low beam in 2 Lamp system.

HELLA INC
HLMP KIT 165MM H4 12V ECE

You will want to get the wiring harness from Black Dragon Auto to ensure you get the most out of your headlights. Our stock wiring has the power run up through the steering column and switch and then back down to the headlights. The BDA harness just reroutes it through some relays, ensuring maximum power. Best $20 you can spend.

No, no they don't. The headlight and taillight assembly is black but if you look at the bacl they are still a crystal reflector. Black doesn't reflect, period. Simple physics. I'm wondering how the Black Dragon housings are? I think I want to try a set on my FC with some Silverstar bulbs.
