New car (I hope)

For those of you who didn't read my last post. I was looking at buying an 83 7. I just got back from the test drive, and wow! These cars rock more than I previously imagined. The transmission seemed good, it went into all the gears easily, aside from the oil leak from the oil pres. sender (the oil pressure wasn't reading right, maybe it's related) that the owner had mentioned on the phone, the mechanicals seemed in good condtion, it started cold in 4-5 seconds, warm it started instantly.

Cosmeticallly it was a little rougher, window, door, sunroof seals willl probably need replacing. There was a 6 inch shallow dent on the rear left quarter panel, that knocked out the running light, and a small dent right below the hatch. The hatch had new struts, and the left rear outer lens on the taillight was missing. The only rust was right behind the rear right, and wasn't all the way through. The interior was rough, just generally run down, but I'm not buying this car for it's luxury. On the other hand, it had an aftermarket CD player, and comes with the Haynes manual. I'm was pretty satisfied overall, and told the seller that if he got it checked by the local rotary mechanic, and it checked out, I would buy.

Just thought I'd let you guys know that I hope to be joining your ranks soon.

That will be a $75.00 joining fee, payable to my pay pal account at carl@pbandjracing.com. Also because you have the same year as me that will be an additional $25.00 tax. Please pay within 12 hours or you will be made fun of.

Edit: Its good to be the king.

Welcome aboard! That oil leak is probably your oil cooler orings, not the sender. Very common. Replace the o rings, and the rubber heater hoses in that area, cause when they get oil soaked, they will soften up and fail, leading to a loss of coolant and overheating, then bye bye engine.
