New BIG! shoes for the FB come see :)

Well I wasn't going to make a post anytime soon but, every time I look at them I laugh so I thought some others might enjoy it as well.

I'm making my own widebody so I opted for biggest mothers I could find and fit properly . These are FR500 wheels 17x9 in front 17x10.5 in back. Covering them are 275 Nexens 3000 front, 315 Nitto NT555r in back and yes she has 4 to 5 lug hub centric spacers 1.8" for the front 2" for the back.
Lots of good traction.

TCM springs on all corners
Ilumina 5-way adjustable shocks on all corners
New bushing everywhere in front

All in all the big wheel and big tires makes the car sit to high even with the 1.25” drop the TCM springs gives the car. The only option I have at the moment is to extend the body kit down a 1” or so when I make it to compensate. Which should be pretty easy given how the kit is planed out.
Need to get it back to an low aggressive look .

Let me know what you guys think,

Oh and FYI she will be getting painted black so the wheels will match in the end.

JR

Thats blasphemy I tell you.

Nah just kidding, looks like that will be a lot of fun when your done. Maybe you should look into getting some Re-speed coil spring adjusters for the rear to bring it down a little. Also what color is that? It looks really nice.

Your tire choice is what makes it look bigger.
I have seen 17" and 18" on 1st gens before and they look smaller due to the tire size that was used...
Looks like your wide body will really need to be WIDE to fit those wheels...

Good luck

Thanks guys I think it's pretty cool as well.

DwArF: The kit will be fiberglass of course. The whole front fender will be fiberglass and the front/rear bumper will also get tweaked but I've left that for later. And if you have a good imagination I just finish making some pictures to get a feel for what I'm going for. If anyone notices I was pulling ideas from the new viper body . Also on the rear flare the outer line will not be a hard line it will be rounded try not to get confused.
Love it, or hate it, I like it

Rx Seven: The back I think is sitting a bit high still because their is some weight still missing. gas tank, hatch glass, doors, interior. So I think it will settle down in the right stop in the future.

'84-12A-GSL: Yes, Yes it is

slate84: I only dropped $2100 for the engine, 6 speed tranny, computer & harness.
How? Find one in a local junk yard with a owner that knows jack . This is an 2000 by the way. But the catch is you have to build a whole swap kit from scratch, as their are no bolt in kits to put an LS1 in an FB. It's a lot of work .
lwnslw: tell me about it the 17x7 I had on there before were 23" in diameter these or 25.5" in diameter. You can't get thinner walled tires that wide though. 18's are thinner walls but same diameter, catch 22.

Here are pictures of the kit and some more fun pictures.

I think it looks hot ls1 and all. If i where do do this though i think i would use a seriesII 3800 and turbo the **** out of it. You have room even for forward faceing headers in there for a turbo? what year ws6 is that from 98-00

We aren't as crazy as you kiwis. We like our frames to not contact the ground and the roads in most of North America are beat to hell. Awesome build. Can't wait to see the finshed beast.

I should make that a braggart clairification. I have ZR1 rims on a stock Vette lol (it came that way). Anyway I wanted smaller 9.5's I don't like how the 11's turn.

yetterben: Why turbo a seriesII 3800 when I can turbo this LS1 . It has crossed my mind to do a turbo but, at lest for now it will just have a MS4 cam in it and should net over 400HP easy. An if I ever get a bug to go faster, I have a NX nitrous kit with a 100-125 shot in mind.

Jimbo II: I promise you I will make it as low as speedbump/pothole possible.

Dan_s_young: I have watched your build thread since you started it, love your car . An I hope I can get mind to look that good in black as well. As for matching you in wheels/tires, I just wouldn't want you to feel all big and bad by yourself now

Vashner: I didn't go any bigger because I figured 275 and 315 were all I was ever going to need and they happen the fit on 9" and 10.5" rims so I was happy with that. I still love Dan_s_young custom wheel though. Also these FR500 wheels are super light. fronts are under 18lbs and backs are under 20lbs.

I'm putting the last coat of wax on the rear fenders tonight. So building the kit commences tomorrow. All start a new thread next week when I've got something to show eveyone.

Im confused.. what kind of Wankel is that? A 4 rotor 32x? I see 4 exhaust pipes so it must be a 4 rotor.

Very nice by the way! Oh and if you find anyone else giving away a steal let me know!!!!

Wow, those wheels are huge. That's going to be sick. Very nice engine bay too. Looks like a great fit also. Nobody is going to want to mess with you when they see how big your tires are in the back rolling down the street lol.

Absolutely beautiful!

Probally have to mount the body kit pretty high to compensate to get the car decently low. Hopefully everything ends up flush, this will be an interesting thread to watch.

As it is now, looks like you have as much ground clearance as a Hummer, even with the side skirts, are you sure you dont want to set it up for rally? Hahaha

Excellent. What are the rules in the states as far as ground clearance goes? In NZ its illegall to have your chassis rails or any part of the main structure eg control arms closer than 100mm(4 inch) to the ground. Not that that stops people haha!
