Odd. A mechanical choke on an RB 465? Was the PO a carb tinkerer?

Well you could always check your exhaust ports and intake ports and compare them to stock ports to see if they've been enlarged.

Seems to be most of what I hear when people are curious about that because I feel the same way about my first gen but I at the same time think this 12A is faster then my 13b was with stock parts all around even now if I went to drive my old 2nd gen it would feel slower.

With that holley on there that is not an unusual response as the stock nikki is pretty restrictive.
I bet its not ported based on looking at the pics.

A hogged out nikki will do the same thing. It will go to redline really quick compared to stock.

RB holley mani's will pool everything on top of the manifold. If the carb has a slight leak it will pool there too. And the OMP lines...
