new 85 i just got

well some of you know that i sold my 84 SE to hades12, which i had to do and i hated having to sell it! i saw a ad in craigs list for 2 7's an 84 and 85 so i emaild him and he told me that one was already gone and he was waiting for payment on the other and he would let me know if the money didnt come. so i said cool and just to let me know if he needed a buyer so today and what do you know im back in the game!i paid $140 for the car i through a battery in it and cleaned the plugs and it fired up! the interior is a bad but the outside is pretty good! i ll have pics of it in the next day or 2. its silver in color with burgandy inside, no sunroof (id like to have one but its cool) steel wheels and about 170000 on the body and most like the engine too! im missing the passenger window. other than all that shes a beauty! it took the wife some talk to but she did let me get it im happy she did!

hey, I have a 1985 GSL sitting in my driveway, I want to keep it, but my wife thinks it is an eyesore. When you described your car, it sounded like you were describing my car, except for the part about it firing up. I put a new battery and starter in mine and new plugs, ( someone told me they are the wrong plugs, but they are the ones napa says are right). I either have to make it run, or get rid of it in the next couple weeks, and I was wondering if you or someone else in the Sacramento area would like to stop by and take a look.. maybe tell me if I have the right plugs / wires.. they were a little hard to find, and when I bought p[lugs from another shop they looked completely different, so I dunno if that is the prob or not. I really would love to see this car run, and would hate for it to go to the junkyard with not a single dent on the body.

Recommended spark plugs are, from hot type to cold are:

NGK: BR7EQ14, BR8EQ14, BR9EQ14
Nippon Denso: W22EDR14, W25EDR14, W27EDR14

The first plug of each type is not for EGI equipped engines. The middle ones are the most commonly used. Autolights are generally, (highly), frowned upon by most members. Most will suggest the NGKs, the 7 came with NDs stock.
