New 1984 Rx7 GS owner starting trouble I think I got it figured out but to be sure

Hi Everyone,

I just bought a 1984 RX7 (Pics Coming Soon) and I went to go start it to drive it home and it would fire run for a second and then die. It has a new battery, I took the air cleaner off and pumped the carb by hand and it seemed like there was only a very small amount of fuel coming out of the jets. So I checked the fuel pump, I bypassed the relay and I turned the ignition on. I can hear the pump ticking which tells me it is working. I now believe it's the fuel filter that is plugged so today I am going to grab one and replace it. Do you guy's think this may be the problem? Also can I use any in-line fuel filter as long as the dimensions are the same and the fittings the same. I plan on going to Canadina tire to get one.

Thanks!

I got mine at Canadian tire, they have a book in the fuel filter section that has everycar in it, just look under Mazda RX-7 (obviously) and than search for the part number on the shelf.

It was like $3
Im looking at the box it came in, it's made by GKI and the part number is 23-3530-6, and replaces GF626
