neutral saftey switch or ignition switch?

got a question. my 85 FB has an intermittent starting problem. i will put the key in. click it over and try to start the car. it does nothing. all the lights come one in the dash but it does not crank. sometimes it will crank and start.

is this the nuetral saftey switch or a bad ignition switch?

There is no neutral safety switch so I'd guess ignition switch

Try to either turn the key further, or not quite as far. I know this sounds weird but the ignition key switch gets worn and after the thousands of turns over the years it can actually be able to be turned too far. I know with mine I can actually turn the key so far that it stops cranking. Also, I know that most people say that their tach bounces when it cranks. Mine never did that until I didnt turn it as far by accident one time. Things wear out and then you get these weird problems.

this happened to me a while back, yup bad ignition switch...expensive and hard to find, check ebay, i got a good deal on mine 50 bucks after shipping and i got the switch and all the other key locks for doors and rear hatch.....if you go to a parts store, it's 100 bucks and you might only get the cylinder if you're lucky, some places didn't even have anything listed for it. http://stores.ebay.com/rotary-restorations

(check there and see if he's got any left, that's where i got mine from)
