Needle Seats Removal

Is there a trick to removing the Needle Seats on a Nikki carb 85 12A?

Short story
Just bought this thing
It kept dying when the choke released.

The Floats were way off
I wish someone would tell people to leave the damn things alone.

I trying my hand at rebuilding

But the Needle Seats are winning

They suck HARD sometimes, as you are experiencing. All I can say is big screwdriver, or small vice grips and rip em out of there. Make sure to clean out all the shavings really good if you vice grip em out.

I used pb blaster and a big freakin flathead. It worked, and mine were extremely bad so I'm sure it should work for you.

Two broken drill bits
soaking in carb cleaner
then the vise grips the screw driver had to much taper.

I was being to careful not to nick-up the seats

Forgot I was throwing them away

I got them out
I think they are 25 yrs old

Yea, my carb was so bad that the small metal clips that hold the needles to the floats literally crumbled when I touched them. Lucky me, I had some layin around from my CV carbs off my crotch rocket.
