Needing advice
Hello all, I’m looking for some advice on my 85 rx 7 gsl-se Here is the good. Family owned original car all stock, body is in great shape, new tires well maintained. Interior is good. Engine is solid. Clean. 100900 miles. Always garage stored, never saw a winter. No rust. The Bad: Oil pan is leaking and needs a an alternator belt. I’m done working on it and ready to sell. Any suggestions on a good price, where to sell, or anything else?

Accumulate 10 posts here and you can advertise your car for sale in classifieds. Post some pics here of exterior,interior,engine compartment so we can get an idea of what it may be worth.If the car is in as good condition as you describe,finding a buyer shouldn't be difficult.
For me,can't understand wanting to sell this car over those two items. Alternator belt can be changed in matter of minutes. It may not be the oil pan that's leaking.
Somewhat common on these cars when they get this amount of miles on them is the oil metering pump on the front of the engine begins to seep oil,the oil runs down front of engine and when it gets to oil pan rail begins to run along rail and it appears the oil pan is source of leak.
The oil metering pump can be resealed for @$25 in parts. You need to clean all the oil from engine,but 1st put eyes on oil metering pump and front of engine to see if they are wet. You will find it easier to remove belly pan to look and see what is exactly leaking. You'll need to get a couple cans of carb cleaner or brake cleaner and clean all the areas on the engine that are wet with oil. Blow dry with compressed air,wipe down with some rags if compressed air not available. Drive car for about 5-10 miles and recheck source of leak. Look at oil metering pump area 1st as oil leaks down,not up. Neither oil pan reseal or oil metering pump reseal are particularly difficult. I would guess the oil metering pump to be leaking and it looks like oil pan is leaking. I have seen these cars have twice the mileage yours does without having to reseal oil pan.

Yeah, keep it. The price of FB RX-7’s has been outperforming the stock market so keeping it a few more years is a wise bet. Take a look at the auction charts on BAT and the value estimator on Hagerty.
For that oil pan leak you may also want to check your Sub Zero temp sensor in the oil pan. On my ‘83 the resin was loose and it would leak from the sensor. I replaced the sensor with a plug as Sub Zero really isn’t needed. Just make sure you use some thread sealant or it will continue to drip.
