Needed Hygrade Carb Rebuild Kit...but where??
I am looking for the recommended rebuild kit from Sterling and RX7Carl...a Hygrade also known as a Standard as I am told by auto parts stores? Well, I have called the locals, Autozone, NAPA, Spradlin, Smyth...but none of them carry this perticular kit. They carry GP Sora, AC Delco, Ecklin and Royze...would any of those be comparable to the Hygrade kit? If not, how could I go about purchasing the Hygrade kit.
My car is an 83 RX7...but what kit to use? A nice one with metal washer and not crappy paper ones!!!!

Thanks for the help...the GP Sorenson kit turned out to have the cork gaskets!!! They even had it in stock, so now the carb is apart in my basement waiting to be cleaned good and put back together. But it will have to wait until I eat turkey tomorrow!!!! Thanks for you help!

The cork gaskets are the good ones then? I noticed my project Nikki has what looks like a thick air horn gasket that is not like the black ones you'd find in a cheap gasket kit. Is this thick gasket cork? If it is, can I remove the air horn and not damage it? I'd like to check for water damage (typical in my area) and replace the stock jetted AP banjo bolt with a non-jetted '79-'80 banjo bolt.

My mistake, the gaskets were not cork, they were just a heavy paper. Sorry for the confusion!!! The carb is back together except for a missing throttle sub-return that is missing from my carb...no wonder the choke wasn't working properly!!! Anyone know where I could find one of those bad boys??? A junk yard perhaps???

I called Auto Zone about a carb and was going to order one but they told me they were unable to order it. The gentle men I talked to said they probably stopped making them and that is why he was unable to order it...so I decided to rebuild it myself!!!!

After a few phone calls, I can get the GP Sorenson Carb rebuild kit for $22 or I can get the Hygrade kit for $42.
Is there really any difference that would justify twice the price? This is the first time this 25 year old carb has been into, and I would rather spend an extra $20 and have it last longer.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
