Question Need Some Throttle Linkage and Pedal Assembly Help

I've got a stock-ported, 79 rx-7 with a side-draft 45 Weber and I could use some examples of throttle lever/linkage setups, please.

Did you modify your cable any? Where you have the end of your throttle cable bracket attached? Adjust the pedal bolts any for maximum travel?

I got it kinda decently working for a moment but then realized how soft my throttle pedal ended up being. A return spring on the throttle level would make it stiffer, probably

Also, how exactly do you hook up a throttle cable? Do you attach the cable to the throttle lever with the pedal all the way up and the throttle closed back to the idle speed screw? Or with the pedal all the way compressed and the throttle all the way open (This seems more difficult, and probably not the right answer, but I've got nothing.)

I've been messing with it for a couple days now, trying different options, and I could really use some direction. Any pictures would be unbelievably helpful, thanks!
